Model City Athletic Initiative, Inc. (MCAI) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Northeast Tennessee dedicated to providing affordable, high-quality athletic opportunities for youth while investing in the future of local youth and families.

We serve families throughout Kingsport and the greater NE Tennessee/SW Virginia region with a mission to make youth sports accessible to every child who wants to learn, improve, and be part of a team. Our focus extends beyond a single team or season, emphasizing player development, character growth, teamwork, and sportsmanship. We believe athletics should strengthen and support family and faith, not compete with them.

As the parent organization of the Model City Misfits, a USSSA-affiliated travel baseball program, we are intentionally building opportunities for players at every stage of their athletic journey, from those stepping onto the field for the first time to those pursuing competitive travel baseball. What sets MCAI apart is our commitment to serving the broader community through athletics, developing both athletes and young people while reinvesting every dollar raised into opportunities that directly benefit local families and youth.

At our core, MCAI exists to bring back family-first and development-focused athletics, helping young athletes build skills, character, and respect for the game while building alongside our families and communities.
